Professor Christer Karlsson

Christer Karlsson is professor of Innovation and Operations Management at Copenhagen Business School (CBS), concurrently professor at the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM) in Brussels, and professor emeritus at Stockholm School of Economics. He is a laureate of IVA; the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences. Professor Karlsson started the annual Innovation and Product Development Management Conference, IPDMC, in 1992 and has since then chaired the conference board. Among special awards is the 2015 Gustaf Dalén Gold Medal, Chalmers University of Technology, Alumni Association, Gothenburg, Sweden.
Motivation says “For his many years of outstanding scientific achievements in innovation, technology development and production networks. He has through his ability to develop, lead and stimulate creative and innovative research contributed greatly to the development of processes and methods to develop the industrial leadership in the global industry”. He has a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden.
Member of several editorial boards of professional journals, including International Journal of Operations and Production Management (IJOPM), the Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM), International Journal of Innovation Management (IJIM), International Journal of Automotive Technology Management, IJATM. Professor Karlsson has been awarded lifelong honorary fellowships of several international academic associations including the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM), the European Operations Management Association (EurOMA), Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) Crawford Fellow Award.
