Cristina Rodriguez Rivero

Research Associate, Centre for Science, Technology & Innovation Policy

Cristina Rodriguez Rivero is a Research Associate at the Center for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (CSTI) at the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) and at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) at the University of Cambridge. Before joining CSTI, Cristina worked in the Inkjet Research Centre and the Fluids in Advances Manufacturing groups (University of Cambridge) studying manufacturing techniques involving fluids in the microscale, such as digital printing technologies. She had the opportunity to work closely with several companies across the UK.

During her time at DAMTP she has worked on projects involving aerosols and ventilation and their link with disease transmission, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. She has had the opportunity to contribute to recommendations and changes of protocols to prevent disease transmission, collaborating with members of government, executive agencies and ministerial departments. Her main research interests are on fluid mechanics, new and emerging technologies and scale up. Within the context of CSTI, she contributes to the analysis of scale up challenges for new and emerging technologies.
