The groundbreaking Manifesto for Global Industrial Safety aims to unite industry, government, and international organisations to prioritise safety in the face of rapid technological advancement across global industries.

From the Global Initiative for Industrial Safety, the Manifesto is a visionary framework that addresses the safety challenges of emerging technologies in the industrial sector. It calls for a global commitment to creating safer working environments and advocates for leveraging technology to prevent workplace accidents, especially in regions that are disproportionately affected by safety risks.

In this webinar, we’ll explore the Manifesto’s five foundational principles, which range from ensuring safe working conditions as a human right to leveraging digital innovations for improved industrial safety.

Our panel of experts will discuss how these principles can be implemented, helping stakeholders—from regulatory bodies to tech providers—build a safer, more resilient future for workers worldwide.

We’ll explore questions including:

  1. What are the emerging risks associated with the use of new technologies in industry?
  2. What are good examples of how technology can be used to address emerging and old safety challenges?
  3. What are the challenges of implementing the Manifesto in developing countries, and how can we overcome them?

Panellists include:

  • Carlos López-Gómez, Manifesto co-author, Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge
  • Kate Field, Global Head of Human and Social Sustainability, British Standard Institution (BSI)
  • Nadia Echchihab, Head of Innovation Programmes, SafetyTech Accelerator
  • Michael Tooma, Head of Environmental, Social, and Governance, Hamilton Locke

Attendees will gain valuable insights into the role technology can play in shaping resilient and safe industries and how organisations can contribute to this collective call to action.
