Yulisyah Putri Daulay

Doctoral Researcher, Centre for Science, Technology & Innovation Policy

Putri is a Doctoral Researcher in innovation and technology policy at the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Science, Technology & Innovation Policy (CSTI). Her research explores how governments can effectively foster innovation in emerging technology sectors while addressing uncertain technological trajectories and balancing economic, societal, and sustainability objectives. She graduated as the top student from Monash University (Australia) with a Master’s in Project Management and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Gadjah Mada University (Indonesia), where she was recognised as the valedictorian and best graduate.

Before starting her PhD, Putri served as a Science and Technology Officer at the ASEAN Secretariat, where she worked to advance STI policies across Southeast Asia. In this role, she supported 10 ASEAN Member States on regional STI advancement and policymaking, managed high-level ministerial and multilateral meetings, and facilitated over 50 cooperation projects under 4 subcommittees and 7 dialogue partners (China, Japan, India, Australia, Russia, Italy, and Plus Three Countries). Her experience, coupled with her previous roles in unicorn/decacorn start-ups, highlights her expertise in project and technology management, stakeholder collaboration, and policy development to foster robust innovation ecosystems.
